Dagon Sprite:

Budget and Production Schedule

Key:

Concept, game design, and prototyping are within the pre-production stage of the game. They are the beginning design stages of the game and require concept artists, writers, designers, and programmers to be hired. I have given 2 weeks of time to the concept phase as the visuals and ideas created will be very basic and so should not take very long to make. Game design has 4 weeks because it requires more in-depth planning and creation of ideas as well as blueprints for the storyline and mechanics of the game. The prototyping of the game ensures that the mechanics work, the story/timeline plays out correctly and comprehensively, and that overall the game has promise and is worth developing which is why I have allocated 5 weeks to creating the prototype because it is integral

What follows is the production stage which is the main stage that builds on and uses the blueprint from pre-production to develop all of the different aspects of the game. The programming of the game takes up the most amount of time at this stage because it is the actual coding and creation of it, and because the character, environment,
sound design, and user interface need to be developed and completed before the programming finishes. It has not been given as much time as prototyping because the prototype has given the programmers a base code of which they can develop to make the game better. The character, environment, and user interface require artists/designers to create and develop the visuals as well as programmers to add them to the game and write the code for them. The sound design phase involves hiring sound mixers/designers to write and record the music and sound effects for the game as well as hire voice actors for the characters and record the dialogue for them before adding the sound into the game which also requires work from the programmers to make sure that it plays at the right time.

The final stage is post-production which involves quality insurance which is the testing of the alpha version of the game by gamers as well as game testers. They give feedback on the game and then the programmers will fix any bugs/issues that were encountered before sending the beta version (improved version) back to them for further feedback. When there are no bugs/issues, the programmers will publish the final version of the game and the producers will send it to the developer for approval. If there are any issues or the game is not up to the developer's standards, it will not be approved and the production team will have to correct any issues before resubmitting the game. Once approved, the game will be released on the 10th of December.

I have also included marketing in the deployment phase which will be happening while the game is being tested. The marketing team, involving the brand manager, communications coordinator, customer relationship manager, digital marketing executive, and other roles, will make sure that the advertisement and promotion of the game target the audience in the most efficient way - mainly through social media - so that the game will sell.
